Developing a gene editing approach for very early-onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD)
Children have Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)—called Very Early Onset IBD (VEO-IBD)—due to mutations in genes that regulate inflammation. We are developing a gene editing approach to correct the VEO-IBD relevant mutations in patient stem cells, bypassing the risks associated with donor transplantations and making autologous stem cell transplantation a possible cure for this disease.
