Mandeep Kaur
Mandeep Kaur is a Cancer Immunologist interested in harnessing the power of the immune system to treat cancer. She is currently completing her postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Professor Jianzhu Chen at MIT. Her research is focused on the development of a novel immunotherapy to treat Acute Myeloid Leukemia – a targeted T cell based therapy that is designed to have minimal side effects on normal, healthy tissue. Mandeep holds a passion for teaching and has taught two Undergraduate Seminar courses while pursuing her postdoctoral research. Mandeep completed her graduate studies at Dartmouth College under the guidance of Professor Michael Cole. Her doctoral work focused on understanding the molecular mechanism of gene repression by the onco-protein Myc, one of the most commonly deregulated genes in cancer. Mandeep’s interest in science extends beyond the laboratory into its impact on improving patient health. Besides science, Mandeep is a trained classical pianist.
