Electric control and monitoring of gene circuits in bacteria
Synthetic biologists aim to program cells to perform complex functions by utilizing chemical or biological ‘inputs’ to cellular genetic circuits; we propose to use electrically responsive bacteria to enable the design of more complex genetic circuits to optimize industrial and target new pharmaceutical applications.
