Ahmed Fazly received his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, MN in 2011. He then completed his initial postdoctoral training at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, where his work resulted in the discovery of several promising antifungal drug candidates. After a hiatus from research, teaching high school chemistry and biology at a Boston area charter school, he returned to research as a postdoctoral associate in Prof. Peter Dedon’s group in Biological Engineering at MIT. His current research focuses on developing bioanalytical techniques for studying modified nucleosides in biological samples.
