Development of bacterial systems to grow and repair structural materials
We propose to develop a biological system that uses genetically engineered bacteria to synthesize and repair a wide range of structural materials into predefined 3D structures, leading to a future where buildings are grown, cars repair themselves, and roads never have potholes.
