Devices that stay in the stomach for long-term drug delivery have been developed, but can be dangerous if adverse side effects to the drug occur. I’ve created a light-activated safety trigger designed to quickly break down these ingested drug delivery devices when an LED is swallowed, to remove the devices (and remaining drug) safely from the body.
